Geoffrey Donnan (November 5, 1943—September 3, 2017)

Rev. Geoffrey Donnan founded Reformation Christian Ministries as a Gospel-centered education outreach aimed at Reformation.

In the early 1990s, our publisher Jerry Nordskog and his wife and Gail entertained Geoff in Ventura, California, where he addressed the George Washington and Patrick Henry Supper Club. Jerry calls Geoff a giant of a man—tall, highly informative and courageous.

An active man, Geoff served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He held Bachelor of Business Administration, Master of Religion, and Master of Divinity degrees. He founded Christian Liberty Academy in Suriname, South America, and the now named First Presbyterian Church of Paramaribo, Suriname, and several other ministries about the Caribbean. He wrote a “Declaration of Universal Rights,” which he distributed to churches throughout the Caribbean. He presented this paper to Ronald Reagan in a visit to the White House.

In recent months, he battled cancer, as he did sometimes battle hurricanes at his home in Florida.

Geoff is survived by his partner in life and ministry—his wife Nancy—and their children Kimarie Anne Card and Jason Wade Donnan, and their grandchildren.

Mrs. Donnan commented, “In God’s providence, Geoff was ever so peaceably and gently received into glory on the Lord’s Day afternoon of September 3rd. Our home was filled with Psalms of praise sung by our loving church family earlier that same afternoon! God’s timing was perfect. The peace of God that passes all understanding has settled into our home, and we are so thankful for many prayers.”

Memorial donations may be made to Reformation Christian Ministries and mailed to the Florida headquarters at 13950 122nd Street, Fellsmere, FL  32948.

Pastor Donnan’s many friends will miss his ministry and gracious life.

Yes indeed, Geoff was an amazing Christian man with many ministries, only a few were mentioned in this brief tribute article. He was active in the Nicaraguan freedom-fighters during the time of Ronald Reagan’s presidency. We hosted Geoff and one of the active Nicaraguans in that movement at our home at that time, and visited relief fund warehousing of clothing and supplies to help the Nicaraguans then. Over the years we stayed in touch from a long distance, usually by reading his newsletters and he reading ours. He graduated into his eternal relationship with the Lord in Heaven with honors from his work on earth, along with his teams and beloved wife. He was a Reformer in modern times. – Jerry Nordskog

I’ve worked with the Reverend Geoffrey W. Donnan for nearly 30 years with Reformation Christian Ministries. He was a saint dedicated to the spread of the Gospel throughout the world. He worked tirelessly in that endeavor, developing and sending out the Good News Bible Study to thousands around the world, planting a Christian school and church in Suriname, developing an online seminary program to train Pastors and Christian leaders, both in the U.S. and several other countries. He was an effective and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was also a Presbyterian churchman with a vast knowledge of theology and church government. He was an innovator, a leader, and a dear friend. I am one of those friends who will miss his ministry and gracious life!
