Every Knee Shall Bow

Get Down, People.

Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

Dear Christian Warriors: 

The current Sunday pastime in the USA is not church. It’s professional football. This “religion” now is arguing over the practice of kneeling or not during the national anthem.

How appropriate of the Lord to highlight this issue during days of repentance, a time to refocus on Him, the Ten Days of Awe leading up to tonight and tomorrow’s holiest day of the year in His calendar, the Day of Atonement, Yom Kippur.

To Him it’s appropriate to kneel.   Not just every Sunday.  Everyday.

Take time on this day, “a holy convocation for you…a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings” (Leviticus 23: 27,31) with Him “afflicting your soul.”  Get right with Him.  Renounce the sin patterns He shows you.  He’s knocking on the door of your heart. Invite Him in.  (Revelation 3: 19-21; 1 Peter 2:9,4:17)

He is Worthy.  Football can take second, or preferably, last place. Join me in placing Him first, kneeling before the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.

Repent. 

Prayer:   

Heavenly Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, we come to You confessing our sins and the sins of our family and our nation.  Like Daniel, we confess that we have failed You and have failed in our witness to our people.  We are a divided nation instead of one united under Your Providence.  We are grieved and we ask You to forgive our sins.  Help us repent and change our ways, so that the nation in which we live can begin to live out Your blessed Plan for us.   Restore to us the years that the locusts have eaten.  In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.”
