A Nation Under Siege: The Explosion of Evil in America Part II. Asian Orphans

“If You’ve Done It unto the Least of These, You’ve Done It unto Me.”

Many longtime MIA subscribers know that this writer and his wife Molly work actively with poor orphan children across Asia (10 orphanages in five countries with about 500 orphans). We have lived in the Philippines at one of these homes for 14 years (and yes, I write MIA each month from out here — which give me an interesting perspective on the world). This year (2020) has been a challenging year for us and our orphanages due to COVID lockdowns (No, no children or staff have gotten the virus at any of our homes); due to millions of impoverished people around us with no jobs or income and actually starving; due to on-line schooling which is very awkward, inefficient and subject to periodic power failures; and due to stringent travel restrictions here, all over Asia, and around the world.

We normally spend time twice a year at each of the seven homes outside the Philippines (Indonesia, India, Nepal, and Myanmar) — but this year (due to travel restrictions) that travel has been restricted to Skype and Zoom calls. To review a bit of history: Molly and I and our son Scott set up the Asian Pacific Children’s Fund (a US based 501C3 tax deductible charitable foundation) 14 years ago in 2006 to come along side and partner with well-run Asian orphanages. APCF has grown be able to support ten of these orphanages largely due to the generous giving and support from our MIA subscribers. For that Molly and I and our 500 orphans are, and always will be deeply grateful. APCF, through your generous support, has been able to assist in putting over a hundred of these poor children through university and help launch them into productive lives. The reality is that most of these children would have never gotten out of grade school, many would have ended up living and dying as desperate street children, and many would have been trafficked into the evil sex trade — to be forced into prostitution at 12, 13, or 14 years of age. (This happens to over 2 million young children — mostly young girls — in Asia each year).

We do face challenges in these efforts (in addition to the present travel restrictions): in several countries we work in there is severe persecution of Christians and Christian orphan’s homes. In India alone, in the past few years, most of these Christian orphanages (several hundred) have been forcibly closed down by that fundamentalist Hindu government and hundreds of thousands of orphans thrown into the streets or forced into factory slavery or into the evil sex trafficking. (In India, 1.5 million children are sex trafficked each year).

Another challenge is that funding for these homes is becoming more difficult as the global economy has shut down and everyone is getting squeezed by the COVID lockdowns. Most of the funding for APCF has come from the US, Canada, Switzerland, and the UK — very little comes from the Asian countries we operate in. But now the US dollar (where the lion’s share of our donations is coming from) is dropping and donors (and consequently the homes) everywhere are getting squeezed by the new financial (and political) realities. This is likely to grow much worse in coming months.

So, as we near the end of the most unusual and difficult year in most of our lives, with daunting changes and challenges on the immediate horizon, I would ask you (our loyal subscribers) to consider in this Christmas season any additional financial help or support you could give to APCF and our children. We would love to add more children’s homes and many more orphans to our efforts as the funding becomes available. The needs are great and growing even as the financial support is being more and more challenged. Anything you (or anyone you know with a heart for these kids) can do to help APCF and our orphans would be deeply appreciated. Our website is: apcf.com and will give details on how to make donations.

Another One of Our Efforts: Operation Joseph

There are massive numbers of people out of work and starving across Asia and all around us here in the Philippines at this time — many more dying from the lockdowns and starvation than from the small number of COVID deaths. And this suffering has now been greatly exacerbated by a series of very deadly typhoons all around us — which have flooded and destroyed whole villages and left hundreds of thousands homeless. Several months ago, we launched Operation Joseph — an effort to raise funds to buy and distribute rice to starving families all around us. To date, almost $40,000 has been contributed by MIA subscribers, and our children here at our home in the Philippines have helped us to pack over 12,000 5 kilo (11 pound) bags of rice which we have then distributed to poor starving families around us. The lives saved and tears and gratitude expressed by these poor starving families is the most heart-warming (and gratifying) thing this writer has ever experienced. And our orphan children (who have been working hard packing the bags of rice) are learning what it is to GIVE and not just RECEIVE — a valuable life lesson. (We have homes in India, Nepal and Myanmar which are doing similar distributions as funds become available).

Over the past month or so, the funds for Operation Joseph have pretty much dried up even as the storms and starvation have increased. This writer is reminded of the story of the starfish. A fellow who was on the beach throwing beached starfish back in the sea, was challenged by a skeptical observer that there were thousands of dying starfish on the beach and “you can’t save them all.” With that, he reached down, picked up another starfish, threw it in the sea — and replied to the skeptic — “Yeah, but I saved that one, didn’t I.” That is the attitude that Molly and I and APCF have to take regarding our orphans, or giving rice or whatever to the poor starving people out here — “No we can’t help them all, but we saved that one didn’t we.”

Any help you can help give us in saving more “starfish” out here (i.e., orphans, via APCF, or starving people out here, via Operation Joseph) would be deeply appreciated. Think about it, pray about it, and help us if you can. All donations for Operation Joseph should be so designated and sent to APCF — which will remit the funds and send you a tax receipt.

Final Thought — an Important Prayer for America

As we have written above (and in prior issues of MIA), America, its freedom, traditional and Biblical values, and future as a free nation now hang in the balance. The powerful communists and globalists now control the major levers of power and influence in America: the media, the educational system, the entertainment industry, the Democrat Party, the major intelligence agencies, a large percentage of the courts, at least a dozen state governments and many city governments–like Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Chicago, Houston, Philadelphia, New York, Washington DC, and dozens more.

A lot of the present condition in America can be laid at the feet of a sleeping, apathetic, complacent, silent Christian church — who have by and large ignored (or even participated in) the growing evil in our country over the past 60 years: the killing of 65 million babies, the explosion of homosexual (and now transgender) initiatives, and the accelerating loss of many of our freedoms — including freedom of speech and assembly. Sadly, many Christians who didn’t like Pres Trump’s personality, either didn’t vote or actually voted for Biden.

This is also a spiritual battle between the evil forces of Satan and those who still follow the God of the Bible (sadly, a declining following in America). So, in addition to the need for a serious political pushback, we desperately need a serious spiritual pushback (i.e., a crushing of the evil forces now taking over America). We need millions (no, tens of millions) of people in America and around the world praying that the God of the Bible will intervene and save America from the communist hell now on our doorstep. The prayer below (from a concerned former Congresswomen) needs to be multiplied and prayed at this time by millions of deeply concerned people who care about freedom and about America:

From Former Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann (R. — Minnesota)

In the aftermath of the election, what is going on in the battleground states of Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Georgia, North Carolina, Arizona, and Nevada (some of which could be resolved by the time you read this issue of MIA) is nothing short of wicked. Our prayers can avail much! It is now up to the Body of Christ to step up. WHAT IF we mobilize a mighty intercessory prayer army to storm the gates of heaven on behalf of the voters of these states? If God has chosen to pronounce judgment on our nation and let it fall under the weight of its own wicked devices, then so be it. I can rest in Him knowing that I left it all on the battlefield.

The prayer strategy is simple. Join us in praying through the prayer petitions below. Then, forward this email to at least 10 friends who are prayerfully concerned about this nation and the integrity of our electoral system. The original distribution was to 20 prayer warriors. In only 6 generations of forwarding this letter, it has the potential to reach 20 million prayer warriors! (20 x 10 = 200. 200 x 10 = 2,000. 2,000 x 10 = 20,000. 20,000 x 10 = 200,000. 200,000 x 10=2,000,000. 2,000,000 x 10 = 20,000,000). And this is the confidence we have toward Him, that if we seek anything according to His will, He hears us. (1 John 5:4).

Will You Join Us in Praying Over…

Michelle Bachmann’s five strategic prayer points and forwarding this email to at least ten other people who are prayerfully concerned about our nation?
