Don't cry for Me

Terry PaulsonA Tale of Two Countries

by Dr. Ted Baehr, Publisher

More than sixty years ago in Argentina, my wife’s father, Dr. Rudolfo Milani, had a flourishing medical practice and a prestigious position in the Argentine medical community.

Juan Peron, who had studied and served under Mussolini, had been implementing national socialism along the Mussolini model for several years in Argentina. That meant that he was trying to control every thing and every body. In the process, Argentina went from being one of the most prosperous countries in the world with a large gold reserve and very little poverty, to being one of the most impoverished, bankrupt countries in South America.

Wisely, Dr. Milani, as the government control of healthcare increased, left the country. He came to the United States because it was free and brought his four children with him and all the money he could carry in his coat. He had to start at the bottom of the medical community in Houston and do his internship all over again. He succeeded and became a top anesthesiologist at one of the best hospitals in the country. Inspired by him, his grandson became a doctor.

Statism: The Golden Calf of the Modern World
by Stephen McDowell

Israel worshiped a golden calf. Many Christians in the world today, especially the western world, worship a golden calf as well. But this is not a physical golden calf. It is the golden calf of socialism, the god of statism. This false god is one of the greatest threats to Christianity in the 21st century. In recent elections, we have seen people tearing off their "golden rings" and clamoring for such a god. To those who worship this golden calf it seems to be a good god that will do good things for them. It promises them provision, security, comfort, and much more. Beware! This god will gradually consume you, your family, your business, and your freedom.

Stephen McDowell exposes one of the greatest threats to Christianity today and one of the greatest problems the world faces. Applying the ideas presented here would turn America around.

How do you raise a family in a world supersaturated with media extolling toxic values that are not your own? Media critic Dr. Ted Baehr and legendary entertainer Pat Boone draw from their own extensive experiences and interviews with experts to help readers understand the power of the media and its influence on families. They also examine the ongoing threats to family values by those in the media who promote a humanistic worldview. Media consumers are challenged to understand their own worldviews, make wise choices and are given the information they need to do so. Baehr and Boone also look at the progress that has been made in family values programming in Hollywood, and offer hope for the future.
