Conspiracy

“For they intended evil against You; they devised a plot which they are not able to perform. Therefore You will make them turn their back; You will make ready Your arrows on Your string toward their faces.”—Psalm 21:11-12*

Is there such a thing as an international conspiracy? Is the United Nations involved in any conspiracy? Webster tells us a conspiracy is “an agreement among conspirators”. A conspirator is “one who plots”. A conspiracy then is agreement among those who plot together. Are there those who plot together? The Bible tells us there are.
“The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD and against His Anointed…”—Psalm 2:2

A new book regularly appears on the New York Times Best Seller List that claims to expose this or that conspiracy. We hear how Monsanto conspires with departments of our Federal Government to remove from the average citizen the ability to grow food so that they will have greater control over the food-chain and thus over the citizenry. We hear of those running the Federal Reserve and how they are continually scheming to steal the value of our earnings and savings. We hear of those in United Nations who seek to bring all nations under a socialistic one world government. I believe there are such conspiracies.

Yet the conspirators have no ability to keep themselves alive or to vivify their conspiratorial visions, for God is! They pretend there is no God. But grown people’s pretending is no more successful in changing reality than is a child’s playtime pretending. They pretend there is no God and they go about life and living as if there were no God. But God is. And the God who is will stop their conspiracies dead in their tracks when the appropriate time comes.

“He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The LORD shall hold them in derision. Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, and distress them in His deep displeasure.” —Psalm 2:4-5

Neither the accumulated power, wealth and prestige of the conspirators, nor their large numbers are of any concern to God.

“A senseless man does not know, nor does a fool understand this. When the wicked spring up like grass, and when all the workers of iniquity flourish, It is that they may be destroyed forever. But You, LORD, are on high forevermore. For behold, Your enemies, O LORD, For behold, Your enemies shall perish; All the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.” —Psalm 92:6-9

And, “Your hand will find all Your enemies; Your right hand will find those who hate You. You shall make them as a fiery oven in the time of Your anger; The LORD shall swallow them up in His wrath, and the fire shall devour them. Their offspring You shall destroy from the earth, and their descendants from among the sons of men.” —Psalm 21:8-10

We are therefore commanded by God who rules over all conspiracies:
“Do not say, ‘A conspiracy,’ concerning all that this people call a conspiracy, nor be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.”

Instead we Christians should be ever learning this: “The LORD of hosts, Him you shall hallow; Let Him be your fear, and let Him be your dread…” —Isaiah 8:12-14
Are there conspiracies of people and governments that are stronger than we are and who are able, at least in some measure to implement their plans? Yes. But the prevailing truth and reality is that Jesus Christ rules from heaven today making His enemies a footstool for His feet. We allows their plans to go only so far, and always for the eternal benefit of His people, and always that His glory be shown forth in His gracious and righteous rule that brings down the oppressor and delivers people from the one too strong for him (Psalm 35:10).

This does not mean that we need to be ignorant of their plots. One plot which has been very successful over a series of generations is that of those who laid the groundwork for our present day public school system. They purposed to remove Christianity from the school and from the students. They have been very successful as they have done this bit by bit, generation after generation. We Christians ought not to be ignorant. Nor ought we to say, “Oh well, the Lord will take care of them, He sits in the heavens and laughs!” Well, He does indeed laugh, but I trust you will not be one who is laughed at in the end because you did not get your children out of Christ-denying schools before those schools got Christ out of your children.

God’s grace to you!
